I haven't really decided on which topic I want to go with yet for my research paper.I think organ donation and transplantation may be a good choice with alot of information available. The twin theory has intrigued me for a long time, but I don't think much has been written about it.
I may chose organ donation and transplantation because I think it is a very controversial topic.
I already know that many people are on waiting lists for organs, and many of those people will die waiting. I want to find out how long people have to be on the list before an organ is available, the process people have to go through in order to receive a donated organ, when they first started transplanting organs, the controversy about donating, the cost, and the emotional effects of the donor's and recipient's families.
I want to find out if there are state laws governing donation and transplantation, or if it is a world wide organization. I also want to find out the success rate among transplants.

Linda- Your topic is great! There has got to be many resources you could use. One place I know you get lots of info from is the hospital. There is probably a donor coordinator there who will be able to point you in whatever direction you choose to go! The other direction to write your topic about could be how many people are listed as organ donors on their Drivers license, and even though they didn't give consent to donate their body parts, maybe their should be a law stating that once a person is gone then the hospital may be able to step in and do something. I don't know, just a thought. Rob Croner

Thanks for the info. It's such a delicate subject for most people. Some think bodies get mutilated for organs, but if they knew the facts I think people would change their minds and donate.
